At Royal Jersey Laundry, we care about sustainability – and about making your linen last as long as possible. Every year, the UK hospitality industry loses millions of pieces of linen, with a huge environmental impact. Replacing worn or damaged items not only costs money, but also generates significant carbon emissions and wastes valuable resources.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce you to Pasha the Pillowcase – a friendly, animated character here to share simple, practical tips on how to care for your linen and help it enjoy a long, useful life.
Freshly made fibres require an enormous amount of resources to produce, as much as 30x baths of water. The energy used to build Pasha alone produced 1.17kg of carbon emissions. Replacing millions of items unnecessarily is not only wasteful, it also works against national sustainability goals. By looking after linen properly, we can reduce waste, cut carbon emissions, and help protect the environment – all while saving our customers money.
Pasha’s message is clear:
• Handle linen with care – avoiding unnecessary damage.
• Follow correct washing and handling procedures to extend its lifespan.
• Think sustainability – because small changes in behaviour can make a big difference.
Pasha’s guidance is delivered through a short, engaging video, with simple visuals and a friendly voiceover, making it easy for everyone to understand. Whether you work in hospitality, housekeeping, or laundry services, these tips can help your linen last longer and keep it in top condition.
We’re proud to be part of the effort to reduce textile waste and create a greener future. By following Pasha’s advice, we can make sure your linen gets the care it deserves – from the first day of use right through to the end of its working life and then joining the Infinite textiles recycling scheme where it can be made back into yarn.
